GALLANT 6.8m - 7.4m "PROVEN ABILITY"

Clayton Marine Gallant 6.8mtr derived from the need for a smaller commercial vessel, that still maintained the performance and handling of the already accredited Skippercraft range of boats.

In May 1986 one of the first Gallant 6.8mtr vessels was tested, the early Gallant 6.8mtr had a Volvo AQAD 31A/290 130hp diesel stern drive motor.  This produced 28knots max with a cruising speed of 21 knots.

Today, some 20 years later, Clayton has extended this range in 1998 to include the 7.4mtr Gallant.  The Gallant has evolved as a customized vessel and can accomodate Stern Drive, Single & Twin Outboard Motors.  The modern Gallant, with a 260hp Volvo Diesel Stern Drive motor, can operate at 37 knots with a cruising speed at 26 knots.

The benefits of being a trailable boat means that the keen fisherman can take his vessel to fish various species in areas that they are renowned for, eg. Tuna down the South East of SA and Snapper at Whyalla SA.

All Clayton Marine 6.8 & 7.4mtr Gallants are built to Marine Survey Standards, this gives the recreational fisherman the same quality built vessel as is required for the commercial fisherman.
